Padel court
Everything you need to know about the official size of padel courts
Padel is one of the fastest growing sports in the Netherlands. For clubs, sports parks and investors, it is therefore important to know the official dimensions of a padel court. This is because the correct dimensions determine not only how a padel court is built, but also how the game is played.
A standard padel court measures 10 metres wide and 20 metres long. The playing field is surrounded by glass walls and mesh structures, allowing the ball to return through the walls during play. This unique combination makes padel dynamic, fast and strategic. At Allesvoorpadel, we build padel courts according to the official standards of the International Padel Federation (FIP). This makes our courts suitable for recreational use, competitions and professional tournaments.

STEP FOR STEP
Thus, we realise an indoor padel court from design to completion.
The official dimensions of a padel court are set by the International Padel Federation (FIP). These dimensions are used worldwide for both recreational and professional padel courts.
A standard padel court has the following dimensions:
Length: 20 metres
Width: 10 metres
The court is divided by a net into two equal playing halves.
The net is located in the centre of the court and has a height of:
88 cm in the middle
92 cm at the sides
On both sides of the net are service boxes that divide the playing field for serving.
A key feature of padel is that the court is surrounded by glass and fencing. This allows the ball to return to play through the walls after a bounce.
The back wall consists of glass with a height of 3 metres, while the fencing along the sides often has a height of 4 metres.
How big is a padel court including walk-out space?
Although the official playing dimensions are 10 × 20 metres, extra space around the court must be taken into account when building padel courts.
For comfortable and safe installation, extra space for:
gates
walkways
maintenance
lighting
In practice, therefore, a total space of about 11 × 21 metres per runway reserved.
Single padel court dimensions
In addition to the standard double lane, there is also a single padel court. This court is specially designed for singles play.
The dimensions of a single padel court are:
Length: 20 metres
Width: 6 metres
Because this court is narrower than a standard padel court, it is often used in locations where less space is available or as an addition to existing courts.

WHAT'S INVOLVED IN BUILDING A PADEL COURT?
Creating a padel court requires more than just the right dimensions. Factors such as subsoil, foundation, lighting and noise reduction also play an important role in the construction of a padel court. By making a good analysis of the site beforehand, it is possible to determine how much space is needed and how best to place the padel courts. At Allesvoorpadel, we supervise the entire process from design to realisation.
